We are looking for a Senior Level Artist for a fully remote role in Canada. The ideal candidate should have strong Unreal Engine skills.

Job Description
Main objective of the role

Efficiently produce playable levels based on the vision of art directors and level design requirements.
Collaboration in your studio

Conceptual art, character art, environment art, technical art, level design, and animation
Responsibilities

Maintain the artistic direction and quality

Efficiently produce playable levels based on the vision of the art directors and the needs of the level design with the cooperation of the manager.
Create the geometry of the world and the composition of levels in Unreal Engine.
Redesign existing elements to give them a new form.
Lock the modules and levels, create the first elements.
Production/Deadlines

Produce work in accordance with specifications and maintain workflows within deadlines.
Feedback

Modeling the assets of agents.
Participate in evaluations, adapt and put into practice feedback from managers and colleagues in a professional manner.
Collaboration/communication

Participate in research and development initiatives to explore new techniques and implement improvements to pipelines and workflows.

Duties

Maintain artistic direction and quality

To effectively produce playable levels based on Art directors vision and Level design needs with lead cooperation.
Creating world geometry and composition for levels in Unreal Engine.
Redesigning existing assets to new forms.
Blocking out modules and levels, creating first/proxy materials.
Production/deadline

Produce work within specifications and maintain workflow pipelines within given deadlines.
Feedback

Model proxy assets.
Participate in reviews, adapt to, and implement feedback from leads and peers in a professional manner.
Collaboration/communication

Participate in R&D initiatives, to explore new techniques and implement improvements to pipelines and workflows.
Qualifications
What we are looking for

A solid portfolio showcasing playable levels with created geometric elements.
Experience and mastery of 3D modeling software commonly used in the field (Maya, Max, Blender, ZBrush, Photoshop or their equivalents).
Interpreting concepts from an artistic point of view or going beyond the initial idea in a creative way.
Demonstration of narrative staging.
A good understanding of traditional artistic techniques, as well as fundamental design skills (basic notions of composition and layout, form, texture, value and color).
Experience using Unreal Engine (or equivalent software).
Perfect mastery of modular workflows.
Proficiency in using physically based rendering shaders and normal maps.
Adaptive(-ive)
Ability to receive and implement feedback.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new styles, techniques and workflows.
Ability to collaborate with managers and various departments to solve artistic and technical problems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

Unreal Engine, Maya/3dsMax, Blender, Zbrush, Photoshop

Experience

At least 3 years of experience in AAA game development for consoles and PCs, including 1 year with Unreal Engine
You may have

Skills in traditional arts, combined with fundamental skills in graphic design (typography, color and light).
Experience using Unreal 4/5. Skills in environment modeling.
Experience in level design.
Must have qualifications

Strong portfolio showcasing playable levels with created geometry.
Experience and knowledge of industry-standard software packages for 3D modeling. (Maya, Max, Blender, ZBrush, Photoshop, or their equivalents).
Artistically interpret concepts or creatively push beyond an initial ideation.
Demonstration of narrative set dressing.
A solid understanding of traditional art skills along with foundational design competencies (basics of composition and layout knowledge, shape, form, texture, value and color).
Experience working with Unreal Engine (or equivalent).
Full understanding of Modular Workflows.
Ability to use PBR shaders and normal maps.
Adaptive.
Ability to receive and implement feedback.
