Software Engineering Applications System Administrator


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain software engineering application platforms, including ALM, DevOps, source control, and container environments.
  • Provide operational support for development, build, testing, and software delivery pipelines.
  • Configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize engineering tools and infrastructure.
  • Automate routine administrative tasks and deployment processes to improve developer productivity.
  • Manage source code repositories, branching strategies, and access controls.
  • Administer container platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and integrate development tools across the software lifecycle.
  • Ensure secure, compliant, and controlled R&D environments by implementing best practices for access management, security, and governance.
  • Collaborate with software engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to resolve issues and enhance development workflows.
  • Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience administering software engineering or DevOps platforms.
  • Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, or similar DevOps platforms.
  • Strong experience with Git or other source control systems.
  • Experience administering container platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and automation.
  • Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Familiarity with software security, vulnerability management, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
  • Experience supporting enterprise software development organizations.
