Senior UX Researcher - E-commerce Platforms

About the Role Our client, a leading e-commerce innovator, is seeking a highly skilled Senior UX Researcher to join their growing product team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute impactful insights from anywhere within Canada. You will be responsible for planning, conducting, and analyzing user research to deeply understand customer needs, behaviors, and pain points related to online shopping experiences. Your findings will directly influence product strategy, design decisions, and the development of intuitive, user-friendly e-commerce platforms. The ideal candidate is a master of various qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, possesses excellent analytical and communication skills, and is passionate about advocating for the user. This role is crucial for ensuring our client's digital storefronts provide seamless and engaging experiences for a global customer base. You will collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to champion user-centricity across the organization. Key Responsibilities Design and execute a comprehensive user research strategy for our e-commerce platforms, utilizing a mixed-methods approach (qualitative and quantitative). Plan and conduct various research activities, including user interviews, focus groups, surveys, usability testing, contextual inquiries, and A/B testing analysis. Analyze research data to identify key user insights, pain points, and opportunities for improvement. Translate complex research findings into clear, actionable recommendations for product, design, and engineering teams. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure user insights are integrated into product roadmaps and design decisions. Develop user personas, journey maps, and other artifacts to represent target audiences and inform product development. Present research findings and recommendations to stakeholders at various levels of the organization. Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in UX research and the e-commerce industry. Advocate for the user throughout the product development lifecycle. Requirements Master's or Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of professional experience in UX research, with a proven track record of impacting product strategy and design. Expertise in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and tools. Experience conducting research specifically for e-commerce or digital platforms is highly desirable. Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to derive meaningful insights from complex data sets. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively. Proficiency in research tools (e.g., UserTesting.com, SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics) and data analysis software. Ability to work independently and manage multiple research projects simultaneously in a remote environment.
