<p><strong><u>Who We Are</u></strong></p><p>Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including the capacity to deliver two-way service every 15 minutes or better on core routes. Work is already underway on new track, station renovations and infrastructure upgrades on parts of the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities across the region. The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture is comprised of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd. This multidisciplinary team leads the delivery of civil and track works, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across the GO Transit network.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>You are someone who:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Accountable for ensuring all construction project management activities are successfully executed.</li><li>Reviews technical design documents and constructability for utilities, drainage, and structures such as retaining walls, noise walls, and OCS foundations.</li><li>Reviews cost estimates focusing on completeness, accuracy, and underlying assumptions and check against industry benchmarks to ensure they are within acceptable ranges.</li><li>Analyzes potential construction risks, develop mitigation strategies, and provide inputs to the Project Risk Register.</li><li>Works with the Scheduling Team to build a Project schedule during the development phase.</li><li>Collaborates with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure project success.</li><li>Oversees procurement, including materials and subcontractors.</li><li>Establishes and maintain the project budget.</li><li>Enforces change procedures.</li><li>Reviews contract documents to ensure proper project planning, scheduling, staffing, and cost control.</li><li>Negotiates and executes contracts and agreements in a timely and cost-effective manner.</li><li>Chairs project management meetings with a focus on the best outcomes.</li><li>Ensures all project reporting is accurate and timely.</li><li>Oversees testing, quality, and safety.</li><li>Manages client and vendor relationships.</li><li>Ensures all project close-out activities are completed in a timely manner.</li><li>Demonstrates commercial acumen to protect profits and improve margins.</li><li>Business development, including participation in costing and estimating activities and risk analysis.</li><li>Financial forecasting and contributing to the creation of revenue targets.</li><li>Drives an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>You bring:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Post-secondary education in engineering, construction management or equivalent discipline.</li><li>Knowledge and/or experience of the rail and signalling is preferred.</li><li>10+ years of active, relevant, and applicable experience in the civil construction industry, focusing on rail and infrastructural projects.</li><li>Knowledge of various project delivery models, especially Progressive Design-Build (PDB), is an asset.</li><li>Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for normal functions and special assignments.</li><li>Proficient use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access) is essential, and experience in using scheduling and estimating software is preferred.</li><li>Ability to work effectively within a team environment.</li><li>Skilled at building positive working relationships with internal and external clients.</li><li>Good listening and communication skills.</li><li>Be a champion of inclusion and diversity.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Expected compensation for this role is between <strong>$130,000.00-$160,000.00</strong> annually. Base salaries are determined according to multiple factors including skills, experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into consideration.
