Interior Health supports approved applicants of BCCNM's Supervised Practice Experience (SPE) with casual employment opportunities and provides access to the necessary mentorship to effectively reintegrate into the workforce!

A first in Canada:
minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPRs) are starting in B.Interior Health, alongside other health authorities, is implementing mNPRs as a transformative staffing solution that aims to improve the working environment of nurses in order to provide better quality care to our patients.
once approved, they are assigned a preceptor and complete 400 SPE hours as a casual employee in their preceptor's rotation. By completing your SPE with Interior Health, you will have access to:

Assurance that as a returning nurse you will receive the adequate supervision and mentorship to meet your professional development goals in a culturally sensitive and supportive environment
Casual employment that will automatically continue beyond successful completion of SPE hours and offer access to other internal vacancies at that time
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population
Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols
This is a Casual opportunity. Casual Employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0-37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis. This could include part-time or full-time hours and generally will include days and nights; Seniority level Internship
