Lead Client Partner, CPG (12-Month Fixed Term)

About the position

This is a 12-month fixed-term position within Pinterest's Enterprise CPG Sales team. The Lead Client Partner will be responsible for driving business results for Pinterest’s largest strategic advertisers. This role requires expertise across the marketing funnel to grow and nurture client relationships, guiding them from awareness through to conversion and retention. The ideal candidate will act as a trusted consultant to key advertisers, leveraging strategic advice, analytical skills, and sales skills to demonstrate the value of the Pinterest platform. The position emphasizes a growth mindset, openness to new techniques, skill development, and AI-led workflows. Candidates should be excited about using AI as a partner to augment creativity and amplify impact. The interview process will focus on foundational skills and collaboration with AI, requiring candidates to explain their approach and thought process.

Responsibilities

  • Retain, grow, and diversify the value delivered to partners, ultimately growing Pinterest revenue.
  • Coordinate negotiations with partners to create joint business plans and learning agendas, demonstrating a deep understanding of partners' business and media objectives.
  • Manage stakeholders and decision-maker relationships, arranging regular meetings to discuss requirements, understand objectives, and remove roadblocks for partners.
  • Orchestrate internal support for clients and agencies to solve high-level strategic challenges, including measurement, creative, and technical integration, to meet partners' goals.
  • Track, analyze, and communicate key quantitative metrics and business trends internally and to partners.
  • Own the 'why Pinterest' conversation with advertisers to influence their perception of the platform's role in their media mix.
  • Present tailored digital media strategies to partners that address their specific marketing needs and align with their business goals.
  • Translate data into compelling stories with actionable insights to help partners succeed, leveraging knowledge of the digital advertising landscape, competitive platforms, and industry trends.
  • Increase ad investment by applying knowledge of customer goals and joint strategy.
  • Secure and grow revenue for Pinterest through proactive planning, pitching, deal negotiations, and upselling.
  • Unlock new revenue streams by navigating across multiple lines of business, marketing objectives, and regions.
  • Influence and secure budget allocation from Search, Social, Brand, Video, Agency, and other relevant teams.
  • Provide partners with guidance and expertise on product and service best practices and features.
  • Clearly explain the benefits of all relevant Pinterest ad product features to customers.
  • Leverage AI to manage pipeline velocity and deal hygiene, including opportunity tracking, forecasting preparation, and weekly reporting.
  • Maintain up-to-date education and fluency on the evolving product roadmap and iterations.
  • Efficiently interface with cross-functional teams to answer product-related questions or challenges.
  • Utilize AI to understand and test various tools and approaches for meeting preparation, performance analysis, and prioritizing high-impact outcomes with velocity.

Requirements

  • Growth mindset & open-mindedness to new techniques, skill development and AI-led workflows to drive success at scale across a diverse set of advertisers.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in marketing/advertising/digital, with specific technical acumen in Search/Shopping/Display/Social advertising technologies.
  • Established industry relationships and experience working with executive level business and marketing leaders within client organizations.
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue goals.
  • Ability to translate partner value across various levels, such as executive, operational, creative, media, and analytics teams.
  • Strong team player and ability to succeed in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment while maintaining high levels of operational rigor, digital acumen, and business excellence.
  • Expertise in digital advertising and media sales including campaign optimization, analytical problem solving, and product/platform knowledge.
  • Utilization of AI to craft personalized, high-quality client communications at speed, from outreach and follow-ups to QBR presentations and renewal proposals, maintaining a consultative tone grounded in data and platform expertise.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Marketing, or equivalent experience.
