Government and Public Affairs Manager

Overview Enterprise Mobility is excited to announce the opening of a Government and Public Affairs Manager on our Corporate Government and Public Affairs team in Canada! About The Role We are seeking an experienced, government affairs professional to manage our federal advocacy efforts in Canada while supporting select provincional files. This in-house role is central to shaping public policy outcomes, strenghthening relationships with senior government stakeholders, and advancing the company’s priorities in mobility, transporation and technology policy. Our ideal candidate is bilingual (English- French) and able to build effective relationships with government officials and external stakeholders. They possess exceptional communication skills and can clearly and persuasively convey complex policy issues to various audiences. Demonstrating the highest levels of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards, this individual thrives in collaborative environments while also working effectively and independently when needed. They bring excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills, along with the agility and sound judgment required to balance multiple requests and competing priorities. Additionally, they exhibit exceptional strategic judgment and political acumen, enabling them to navigate complex situations and advance organizational objectives effectively. Location and Travel This position will work out of an office and can be located in Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal. Travel within Canada, particularly between Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City and key provincial capitals will be required to meet with government officials, attend industry events and support corporate initiatives. The anticipated pay for this position is $175,000 to $200,000 CAD. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held. Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement advocacy strategies that advance the company’s federal public policy priorities Monitor and analyze federal legislation, regulatory developments, and political dynamics related to transportation, mobility, data and technology to recommend company actions needed to address issues effectively Build and maintain strong working relationships with government and political stakeholders, elected officials, public servants, and regulatory agencies, while representing Enterprise Mobility Prepare policy briefs, submissions, and materials on behalf fo the company to attend government related meetings that further the reputation of Enteprise as a leader in corporate responsibility Represent the company in consultations, advisory groups, industry associations, and policy coalitions Work with and manage external public affairs vendors Provincial Affairs (Secondary Focus) Support advocacy initiatives in key provinces – particularly Ontario and Quebec Track and assess provincial policy and regulatory changes affecting the company’s operations Help coordinate federal-provincial aliignment across releveant policy files Internal Collaboration Analyze, review, and summarize proposed legislative and regulatory actions and the impact on the transport and mobility industry, communicating significant proposals to various levels of management for review and coordination of responses Develop internal briefing materials for executives and cross-functional partners Collect and process various data for analysis, reporting, and to support policy development and advocacy in driving strategic business interests In addition to these job functions, candidates will also need to display proficiency in the following Competencies: Building Relationships Decision Making Ethics and Values Forward-Thinking Leading and Inspiring People Managing and Developing People Persuading and Influencing Resilience We are an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V Qualifications Required: Must have a Bachelor’s Degree Must have 5+ years of experience in government relations, political policy or public affairs Must have direct experience working with federal and/or provincial legislative processes Must have the ability to register as an in-house lobbyist in compliance with federal and provincial lobbying laws Must be authorized to work in Canada and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future Preferred Bilingual (English and French) – excellent written and verbal proficiency in both languages Experience with car rental, transportation, mobility, automotive, technology, or data policy Experience working with regulatory agencies and industry associations #J-18808-Ljbffr
