You’ve got the space to grow, the balance you need, and a place that gets it.<br><br>It feels different — because it is.<br><br><strong>It’s a place that works for you.<br><br></strong><strong>About The Role<br><br></strong>Responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable experience at various arena and pool locations throughout the City.<br><br><strong>What You'll Be Doing<br><br></strong><ul><li>Provide basic customer service to patrons, including but not limited to answering questions both in person and over the telephone,, and assisting patrons on or off the ice.</li><li>Ensure that all public and employee areas of the facility are safe, clean and tidy at all times.</li><li>Ensure patrons adhere to skate and swim program rules.</li><li>Perform on-ice Skate Patrol as assigned.</li><li>Perform a variety of on-ice maintenance duties, including assisting with floods, moving nets, and clearing snow.</li><li>Perform a variety of general maintenance duties, including custodial duties, equipment set up and removal, and minor maintenance.</li><li>Operate assigned equipment including floor scrubbers, side to side scrubber, power washers and shop vacuum.</li><li>Set up equipment for regular and special events.</li><li>Report any problems / incidents / accidents or damages to supervisor on duty in a timely manner to ensure a clean, safe and healthy facility.</li><li>Must comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Corporation Policies and Procedures and any other applicable legislation.<br><br></li></ul><strong> About You: <br><br></strong><ul><li>Valid certification in Standard First Aid and CPR with AED (Defibrillator).</li><li>Strong skating skills and knowledge of safe on-ice practices.</li><li>Ability to work effectively with and for the public in a polite manner.</li><li>Ability to work with a team.</li><li>Ability to perform moderate to hard physical labor, lifting up to thirty (30) lbs.</li><li>Ability to work under limited supervision.</li><li>Must be available to work 16 to 24 hours per week, including weeknight and weekend shifts.</li><li>Must have own CSA approved safety footwear, skates and helmet.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Job Details<br><br></strong><strong>Job ID: </strong> 2025-171<br><br><strong>Pay Rate:</strong> $21.40<br><br><strong>Hours: </strong> Up to 24 hours per week<br><br><strong>Schedule:</strong> Variable<br><br><strong>Location: </strong> St. Catharines, ON<br><br><strong>Work Mode:</strong> In Person<br><br><strong>Employee Group<br><br></strong><strong>Position Type: </strong> Temporary, Part-time<br><br><strong>Duration: </strong> Until May 31, 2027<br><br><strong>Vacancy Status: </strong> This posting is intended to build a candidate pool for future vacancies<br><br><strong>Application Deadline: </strong> Until Filled<br><br><strong>Jobs with an application deadline will close at 11:59 PM on that date.
