Join our roadways team to drive forth our economies, our societies, and your career. </p> <p><strong>Your Opportunity</strong></p> <p>Stantec has an immediate need for an<strong> Electrical Designer</strong> to work within a multi-discipline team environment to design efficient and reliable electrical systems for Infrastructure, Transportation and Transit projects. The successful candidate will assist the Senior Electrical Engineers and Project Managers in designing and executing infrastructure, transportation and transit electrification projects. The electrical design will include normal and emergency power distribution systems, interior and exterior building lighting systems, roadway and street lighting systems, traffic signals design, EV Charging station, extra low voltage systems such as fire alarms, telecommunication, security access control, CCTV system, instrumentation, SCADA system design and execution of various Transit/Transportation systems and infrastructure related projects.<br /> <br /><strong>Your Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Participate in feasibility/strategic studies related to the electrification of public transit networks.</li> <li>Applying best practices and identifying innovative solutions, carry out engineering analyses and studies.</li> <li>Design of Electrical substations including equipment specification, and grounding system design.</li> <li>Design of Electrical Vehicle Charging stations</li> <li>Prepare technical memos and reports to communicate results and recommendations.</li> <li>Liaison with project team members, and other stakeholders regarding project requirements.</li> <li>Preparing engineering design drawings, layouts and specifications including but not limited to Single Line Diagrams, wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, protection systems, equipment lists, cable and panel schedules, emergency power distribution, etc.</li> <li>Perform lighting level calculations using lighting software such as AGi 32, AutoLUX, etc.</li> <li>Perform short circuit, arc flash and protective device coordination studies using ETAP (or similar) power systems analysis software.</li> <li>Conduct fieldwork including investigations, studies, and inspections for electrical systems</li> <li>Application of electrical safety codes and regulations to area of expertise and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.</li> <li>Incorporation of safety and risk analysis into equipment designs.</li> <li>Liaise with clients, government regulatory authorities and contractors</li> <li>Ability to work with minimum instructions and supervision, shall be able to complete tasks independently, shall make decisions and take responsibility on technical matters with input from senior engineers and project managers.</li> <li>Coordination with various disciplines and sub-consultants to ensure the technical integrity of engineering design solutions delivered by other disciplines/teams on projects.</li> <li>Review progress and compliance construction with tender documents including review of shop drawings<br /> </li> </ul>
