Role DescriptionXQA is seeking an experienced Development QA Tester with hands-on Unity experience to join our remote team.

In this role, you will work closely with developers, designers, and QA leads to ensure the quality and stability of a game throughout its development lifecycle. You will be responsible for identifying, investigating, documenting, and tracking defects, validating fixes, and performing functional and regression testing across new and existing features.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working within an active development environment, understands the challenges of game development, and can provide clear, actionable feedback to help development teams identify and resolve issues efficiently.

This is a fully remote position requiring availability during Pacific Standard Time (PST) working hours.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications

  • Professional experience in Development QA or game testing, preferably working directly alongside a game development team.
  • Hands-on experience testing games developed in Unity is mandatory. Candidates must be familiar with the Unity development environment and comfortable using the Unity Editor to investigate and reproduce issues.
  • Ability to work PST business hours and collaborate with a development team operating in that time zone.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, including functional, regression, exploratory, and integration testing.
  • Experience designing, documenting, executing, and maintaining test cases covering gameplay features, functionality, and edge cases.
  • Ability to identify, reproduce, investigate, and clearly document defects with detailed reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers, designers, producers, and QA leads.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and adapt to changing development requirements.

Additional Assets

  • Experience with bug tracking and project management tools such as Jira.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or Perforce.
  • Understanding of software development fundamentals and game development pipelines.
  • Experience reviewing Unity logs and using debugging or profiling tools.
  • Familiarity with automated testing concepts and test management tools.
  • Relevant education or training in computer science, software engineering, game development, or a related field.
