Chemical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a leader in innovative chemical solutions, is seeking a skilled Chemical Process Engineer to join their dynamic team in Toronto . This role is critical for optimizing and troubleshooting existing chemical processes, as well as contributing to the design and development of new manufacturing methods. You will work closely with production, research and development, and quality control teams to ensure efficiency, safety, and product quality. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in chemical engineering principles, a keen analytical mind, and the ability to thrive in a hands-on, operational environment within a state-of-the-art facility in Toronto , contributing to cutting-edge chemical manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities Analyze and optimize existing chemical processes to improve yield, reduce costs, and enhance safety. Design, develop, and scale-up new chemical processes and equipment. Conduct pilot plant studies and troubleshoot operational issues on the production floor. Develop and implement process control strategies and instrumentation. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and process flow diagrams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, operations, and maintenance, to achieve project objectives. Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical industry. Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics. Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools. Proficiency in process safety management (PSM) principles and hazard analysis techniques. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
